Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Caregiver to provide exceptional in-home care for individuals requiring assistance with daily activities and medical needs. Duties
- Provide comprehensive support with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
- Monitor and observe patients’ health status, recording vital signs and noting any changes in condition
- Administer medications accurately following medical instructions and document all medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with specialized care such as Alzheimer’s, dementia, memory care, hospice, and catheter management
- Operate Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems to ensure precise documentation of patient care
- Support clients with home and community activities, including meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, and cleaning tasks
- Use medical terminology appropriately when communicating with healthcare professionals or documenting patient information
- Safely utilize medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and perform catheter care when necessary
- Respond promptly to emergencies by implementing CPR or other first aid procedures as required
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate ongoing patient care plans and ensure compliance with all safety protocols
Skills
- Strong patient observation skills to detect changes in health or behavior promptly
- Experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical documentation standards
- Knowledge of medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and medical terminology
- Ability to assist with ADLs efficiently while maintaining patient dignity and comfort
- Experience caring for individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or memory impairments
- Competence in hospice care practices and hospice-related protocols
- Proficiency in using mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts and performing catheter care safely
- Excellent caregiving skills combined with patience, empathy, and strong communication abilities
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality at all times
- Ability to work independently in a live-in employment setting while managing multiple responsibilities effectively
