Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Caregiver to provide exceptional in-home care for clients with diverse needs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents in a home or community setting. Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Administer medications and monitor vital signs in accordance with care plans and HIPAA guidelines
- Provide specialized care for residents with dementia, Alzheimer’s, or other memory impairments
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements and assist with feeding as needed
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment
- Observe and document patient condition, report changes to healthcare professionals promptly
- Support residents during medical appointments or outings within the community
- Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and ensure proper safety protocols are followed during transfers
- Implement care plans designed by healthcare teams to promote health and well-being
- Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations including HIPAA and safety standards
Skills
- Proven experience in home & community care, assisted living, or long-term care environments
- Knowledge of patient monitoring, vital signs assessment, and medication administration
- Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are highly desirable; Certified care giver, Food handler, TB, Finger print.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or Alzheimer’s is preferred
- Strong observational skills to monitor patient condition and respond appropriately
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting residents with mobility or transfers
- Compassionate communication skills tailored to working with seniors or individuals with cognitive impairments
- Familiarity with care planning, resident’s , and working within HIPAA guidelines
- Ability to work independently in a live-in setting while maintaining professionalism and discretion
- Experience in nursing home settings or hospice care is advantageous
