Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Caregiver to provide exceptional in-home care for clients requiring personalized assistance with daily activities and medical needs. Duties
- Provide personal care assistance, including help with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and well-being.
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as toileting, feeding, and medication reminders to ensure optimal health management.
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, recognizing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately using electronic health record (EHR) or electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Administer medications safely following medical instructions while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Support clients with mobility transfers using patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices; assist with end-of-life or hospice care as needed.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and assist with light housekeeping tasks like cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment.
- Document medical records diligently, including medication administration, patient observations, and care activities to ensure compliance with home healthcare regulations.
Skills
- Strong patient observation skills with the ability to identify changes in condition promptly.
- Prior assisted living or long-term care experience, especially working with geriatric patients or individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, catheter care, wound management, and basic life support (BLS) including CPR.
- Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation of patient care activities.
- Familiarity with home health care regulations and best practices for home & community care settings.
- Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate patient transfer equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
