Live-In Caregiver for Seniors – SW Portland (97225)
Pay: $4,700-$5,000+per month

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate live-in caregiver to join our adult family home team. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working in a small, home-like environment and providing consistent, relationship-based care to a small number of residents.
About the Setting:
- Private adult family home with a low resident-to-caregiver ratio
- Residents require hands-on assistance with daily living and benefit from a calm, structured routine
- Emphasis on dignity, familiarity, and personalized care
- Overnight presence is required as part of the live-in schedule
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide partial to full assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and hygiene
- Support residents with mobility, transfers, and safety monitoring
- Follow individualized care plans and behavioral approaches
- Maintain a calm, respectful and safe environment and respond appropriately to changing needs
- Safely administer Medication
- Communicate with team members and document care as needed
- Light housekeeping and house organization tasks
- Laundry
- Meal preparation following menus and at times dietary restrictions
Training & Certification Requirements:
- Current CPR and First Aid certification provided or endorsed by the American Heart Association, the
- American Red Cross, the American Safety and Health Institute (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Completion of required training through Oregon Care Partners, including:
- Pre-service Dementia Care Training for direct care staff ( do not need to retake if it is expired)
- Providing Inclusive Care: Training for Oregon Long Term Care Facility staff
- HCBS (Home and Community-Based Services and Settings and Settings and Individually based limitations)
- Completion of study guide and workbook requirements in accordance with Oregon Department of Human Services guidelines for APD (Aging and People with Disabilities) licensed adult family homes( -we will send link to correct online source.)
- !!!All above requirements are necessary prior to training.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check in compliance with state requirements. Possibly able to train while waiting for processing, if preliminarily approved.
- Important Role Requirements:
This position involves intimate personal care for female residents who require their privacy and dignity maintained and consistency during care. The role also includes shared caregiver living accommodations , and the ability to work respectfully within this arrangement is essential.
Qualifications:
- Prior caregiving experience preferred (adult family home or similar setting is a plus)
- Ability to provide attentive, hands-on care in a home environment
- Dependable, patient, and respectful in all interactions
- Ability to remain overnight and live on-site during scheduled shifts
Schedule: Required to be flexible depending on coverage needs however very likely to have stable schedules most of time. Weekly required coverage : three 24 hrs. shifts but able to sleep most of 8 hrs sleeping time + one 13 hour day shift only.
- Compensation : Starts at $16.5 / hour plus overtime.
- Monthly pay ranges from $4700 to $5000 with possibility for growth
