Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Caregiver to provide exceptional in-home care for clients with diverse needs. This role involves supporting individuals with daily activities, health monitoring, and emotional well-being in a home setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in senior care, disability support, or long-term care environments, and possess a strong commitment to enhancing quality of life through personalized caregiving. This is a full-time position requiring living on-site to deliver continuous, attentive care.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
- Monitor and record vital signs and overall health status of residents
- Administer medications following prescribed care plans and HIPAA guidelines
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
- Support residents with cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer’s through memory care techniques
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts and resident lifts safely and effectively
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment through regular cleaning and organization
- Observe and report any changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition to healthcare professionals or family members
- Follow all safety protocols including CPR, first aid, and infection control procedures
- Assist with transportation to medical appointments or community activities as needed
Skills
- Proven experience in home & community care, assisted living, or long-term care settings
- Knowledge of patient care techniques including medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and dementia or Alzheimer’s care
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for resident transfers or mobility support
- Excellent observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing health concerns early
- Compassionate communication skills tailored for working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or developmental disabilities
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred; ongoing training encouraged
- Experience working with people with autism or other developmental disabilities is a plus
- Ability to work independently while following detailed care plans and protocols
