We are seeking a dedicated Live-In Supportive Roommate/Caregiver to support Josh during the overnight hours (10:00 PM – 8:00 AM). Josh requires 24/7 assistance and is looking for someone who can provide consistent, person-centered support while sharing his home environment. Josh is a doctoral-level accessibility consultant and advocate within the video gaming accessibility industry. His home includes a private lower-level living space designated for the Supportive Roommate. Due to the nature of the live-in support model, this role qualifies for tax-free income under IRS Live-In Caregiver tax exemption guidelines.
Home & Support Preferences (Based on Care Environment & Plan Needs):
- Fragrance-free / Scent-free living environment
- Non-smoking home setting
- Household includes a cat
- Josh prefers receiving support from males.
Role Requirements:
- Speak and write English proficiently
- Hold a valid driver’s license
- Have reliable transportation
- Pass a background study through the Department of Human Services / DHS
- Lift up to 20 lbs. and support mobility needs safely
- Be comfortable providing personal cares and ADL support
Primary Responsibilities:
- Personal cares: toileting, bathing, dressing/undressing, grooming
- Support with all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
- Light housekeeping and home maintenance
- Simple meal preparation
- Driving an accessible van and supporting community and work engagement
- Basic documentation and office support (email typing, care notes, scheduling support as needed)

Pay: From $18.60 per hour
