Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Caregiver to provide exceptional in-home care and support for individuals with diverse needs. This role involves delivering personalized assistance to promote independence, safety, and well-being in a home environment. The ideal candidate will be energetic, attentive, and committed to enhancing the quality of life for those they serve. As a Live-In Caregiver, you will work closely with clients and their families to implement care plans, monitor health status, and ensure a safe and comfortable living space.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Observe changes in health or behavior, promptly reporting any concerns to office staff.
- Medications reminders following prescribed schedules.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking
- Support clients with dementia, Alzheimer’s, or memory care needs through specialized techniques and patience-driven approaches
- Maintain a clean, safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing
- Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to assist with heavy lifting or transfers safely and effectively
- Follow care plans meticulously while adapting to individual preferences and changing needs
- Engage clients in social activities or community outings to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
- Ensure compliance with all health regulations including HIPAA standards, patient privacy laws, and safety protocols
Skills
- Proven experience in home & community care or assisted living environments, especially with seniors or individuals with disabilities
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, hospice care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism
- Strong patient observation skills for recognizing health changes early
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts when necessary
- Excellent communication skills for working collaboratively with healthcare teams, clients, and families
- Experience in creating or following detailed care plans tailored to individual needs
- Ability to work independently in a live-in setting while maintaining professionalism and compassion
