Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Weekend Live-in Caregiver to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in need of assistance during weekends. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those recovering from illness, by delivering personalized care in a respectful and nurturing manner. Responsibilities
- Provide attentive personal care, including assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor residents’ health by observing vital signs, reporting changes, and maintaining accurate care records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences, ensuring proper food safety standards are followed
- Administer medications as prescribed, adhering strictly to care plans and medication protocols
- Support residents with mobility using assistive devices like Hoyer lifts or other equipment; perform heavy lifting when necessary to ensure safety
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing living spaces
- Engage residents in social activities or companionship to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
Requirements
- Proven experience in home care, assisted living, nursing homes, or group home settings; experience with dementia, Alzheimer’s, memory care or autism is highly valued
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or hospice care are a plus
- Knowledge of medication administration, patient observation, and vital signs monitoring
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks as needed
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or other special needs
- Experience working with care plans and assisting with complex medical or behavioral conditions
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred for community-based support
