Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated (LIVE -IN) Home Caregiver to provide essential support and care to individuals in our mental health group home. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors and those with mental health disabilities. This role requires a blend of personal care, companionship, and assistance with daily activities, ensuring that clients feel safe, respected, and valued. The benefit package would include room and broad in addition to a base salary.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the client’s well-being.
- Monitor and record vital signs as needed to ensure health stability.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Support clients with memory care techniques to aid cognitive function.
- Help manage medications and ensure adherence to prescribed schedules.
- Provide care for individuals with developmental disabilities in a respectful and understanding manner.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Collaborate with family members and healthcare professionals to develop personalized care plans.
- This position requires candidate to live on premises.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Previous caregiving experience ( preferably in a mental health group home or similar setting)
- CPR and First Aid certification( or willing to obtain)
- DSP certification
- Medication management certification (or willing to obtain)
- Clear background check.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs.
- Cooking skills to prepare nutritious meals tailored to client preferences or dietary restrictions.
- Housekeeping/Cleanliness mandatory
- Must be able to live on-site for extended periods. **Candidates that are willing to live on site will be considered for this position**
