Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Caregiver to provide exceptional support and personalized care to individuals in a home setting. Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, recognizing changes in condition, and reporting findings promptly
- Administer medications accurately following care plans and HIPAA privacy standards
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences, ensuring safety and hygiene standards are maintained
- Maintain cleanliness of living spaces through regular cleaning tasks to promote a healthy environment
- Support residents with cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer’s disease or dementia through memory care techniques and engagement activities
- Implement care plans designed by healthcare professionals, including patient monitoring and documentation of progress or concerns
Requirements
- Proven experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or group home settings
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
- Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are required; additional training in hospice care or Alzheimer’s/dementia care is a plus
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and assist with mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident’s
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or other special needs populations is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams, residents, and families
- Flexibility to work in a live-in setting with the ability to provide attentive support around the clock
