Overview of Live-In Caregiver Position
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated CNA as an In Home Caregiver to provide essential support to individuals in their homes. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient care and a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those they assist. This role requires a blend of practical caregiving skills and emotional support to ensure the well-being of clients, particularly those with disabilities or other health challenges.
Duties of Live-In Caregiver
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Assist with mobility using Hoyer lifts.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Monitor and document vital signs and changes in client health status.
- Medications reminders and care plan adherence.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning based on dietary needs.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement care plans effectively.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive client information.
Qualifications of Live-In Caregiver
- NC CNA required.
- Experience of using a Hoyer lift.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record are required.
- Previous experience in home health care, assisted living, or long-term care settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs.
- Experience working with individuals who have disabilities or special needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for client mobility assistance.
- Understanding of basic cooking and meal preparation skills tailored to client preferences.
- Experience in social work or direct support roles is a plus.
- Must have reliable transportation for travel to/from client home.
