Job Title: Caregiver
As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need of assistance. Your compassionate nature and dedication to providing exceptional care will make a significant difference in the lives of those you support. You will work closely with clients, offering personalized assistance and ensuring their comfort and well-being in various settings, including homes, assisted living facilities, and group homes.
What you’ll do
- Provide compassionate care and support to clients with daily living activities (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and health status to ensure ongoing well-being.
- Assist clients with mobility needs, including the use of Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties and ensuring hygiene standards are met.
- Develop and follow individualized care plans that address each client’s unique needs and preferences.
- Administer medications as prescribed while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation, particularly for those with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and social workers to provide comprehensive support.
Basic qualifications
- Proven experience in caregiving or related fields such as home health or senior care.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is preferred.
- Understanding of patient observation techniques and ability to monitor changes in health status.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism.
- Knowledge of memory care practices and dementia care strategies.
- Familiarity with hospice care principles and long-term care environments.
