Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Caregiver to provide comprehensive in-home care for individuals requiring assistance with daily activities and medical needs. Duties
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, medication administration, and overall condition.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide specialized care such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice support, and memory care tailored to individual needs.
- Operate medical equipment including Hoyer lifts, catheters, and other assistive devices safely and effectively.
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary restrictions and assist with meal planning and preparation.
- Support patients with instrumental activities of daily living such as laundry, cleaning, light housekeeping, and transportation.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and update medical records accurately.
- Engage in patient observation to detect changes in condition or behavior that require medical attention or intervention.
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
Experience
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer's disease.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medication management, and clinical procedures including vital signs monitoring.
- Experience utilizing EMR/EHR systems for documentation and patient record management.
- Long-term care experience emphasizing patient-centered support within home or community settings.
- Knowledge of hospice care principles and practices for end-of-life support is advantageous.
- Proven ability to work independently in a live-in employment setting while maintaining professionalism and compassion.
