Overview
We are currently seeking a compassionate, dependable, and experienced Live-In Caregiver to assist an elderly couple living with Alzheimer’s and Dementia. This position is ideal for someone who is patient, attentive, and passionate about providing quality care and companionship in a safe and supportive home environment.
Duties
- Assisting with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene)
- Medication reminders and monitoring routines
- Meal preparation and light housekeeping
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Assisting with mobility and daily exercises if needed
- Maintaining a calm, safe, and structured environment
- Monitoring behavioral or health changes and communicating updates
Skills
- Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in health status promptly
- Experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments
- Proficiency with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR systems for accurate medical documentation
- Knowledge of assisting with ADLs and managing complex care needs such as hospice or long-term care scenarios
- Familiarity with medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, CPR certification, and HIPAA compliance standards
- Compassionate approach to working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer’s or dementia
- Excellent communication skills for working effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Capable of managing medication schedules and maintaining detailed medical records
- Experience in home & community care settings with an emphasis on patient safety and dignity
- Reliable, trustworthy, and compassionate personality
- Ability to remain patient and calm in challenging situations
- Valid driver’s license preferred
