Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Caregiver to provide exceptional in-home care for individuals requiring assistance with daily activities and health management. This vital role involves offering personalized support, ensuring safety, and promoting independence within a comfortable home environment. Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Monitor and record vital signs, medication administration, and changes in health status using Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems to ensure accurate medical documentation.
- Provide specialized care for clients with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or other memory-related conditions, including memory care strategies and dementia-specific activities.
- Support clients with assisted living needs by helping with meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
- Administer medications following medical protocols while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
- Observe patients closely for any signs of health deterioration or emergencies; respond promptly with CPR or hospice care procedures as needed.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals by documenting medical records and communicating patient progress effectively through medical documentation systems.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in senior care, home health, long-term care, or nursing home environments.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, patient observation techniques, and caregiving best practices.
- Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional certifications such as catheter care or hospice care are a plus.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently in a live-in employment setting while maintaining professionalism and compassion.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical records management to ensure accurate documentation.
