Seeking a responsible, qualified candidate in Fort Myers to work with an elderly gentleman in his home and community. Please note: This is a full-time, live-in position.
Caregiver (Personal Supports) to help elderly gentleman achieve greater independence in his home and community by encouraging, teaching and assisting him in activities of daily living. This will include assisting him with personal hygiene, housekeeping, preparation of meals, daily exercise and community outings.
Assist in maintaining his home and property as a clean, sanitary and safe environment, including the kitchen, bathroom and laundry.
Provide access to community-based activities, such as shopping and entertainment.
Support and maintain health and safety of client. Monitor vital signs.
Observe and report any significant incidents or changes in client’s behavior or physical condition.
Administer medications on time as required by physician or health practitioner, as needed.
Maintain required records and documentation of daily activities with clients.
Attend occasional meetings regarding client’s progress and needs.
Follow all state rules and regulations as they pertain to caring for the client.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of related experience.
- Solid references
- A valid Florida driver’s license, proof of insurance and reliable transportation.
- Must be able to be certified in CPR / First Aid and Medication Administration.
