Overview
Join our dedicated team as a Live-In Caregiver, where you will play a vital role in providing compassionate, personalized care to individuals in a home setting. This rewarding position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those with diverse needs, such as adults with disabilities. As a Live-In Caregiver, you will be an essential part of creating a safe, supportive environment that promotes independence and well-being. You will be working in a level 4 facility, which is the highest behavior level. This is a behavior facility that requires patience and flexibility when working with consumers. Facility locations will be either an all male home or an all female home. Placement can be discussed during interview.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive personal care, including assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patients’ health by observing overall condition; report changes promptly to the managerial team.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences.
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and document medication administration in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment through regular cleaning, laundry, and organization of the living space.
- Provide emotional support and companionship, fostering a positive atmosphere that encourages social engagement and mental stimulation.
- Be onsite nights Mon-Fri, with every other long weekend (Fri-Mon) off.
Skills
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and the ability to recognize signs of health deterioration or behavioral changes
- Certification in CPR/BLS (Will work with employee to acquire certificate if BLS not active)
- DPS 1 & 2 if the employee has experience with caregiving (will work with employee to attain DSP if not completed).
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, bipolar, or psychophrenia.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and assisting residents with mobility and ADLs (activities of daily living).
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams, family members, and residents to develop personalized plans of care.
- Ability to document clear and accurate daily notes.
