Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregivers to provide essential support to individuals in their homes. As an In Home Caregiver, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting them with daily activities and ensuring their safety and comfort. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and report any changes in health status.
- Administer medication according to care plans and assist with medication management.
- Prepare meals and assist with meal planning based on dietary needs.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe living environment.
- Support clients with mobility challenges, including the use of Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental and physical well-being, including memory care for those with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
- Maintain accurate records of patient care activities while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home health, assisted living, or long-term care settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is highly desirable.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is a plus.
- Strong skills in patient observation and monitoring are essential for identifying changes in client conditions.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility needs.
- Familiarity with caregiving best practices, including vital signs monitoring, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
