Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Monitor residents’ health by observing vital signs, administering medication as per care plans, and reporting any changes to healthcare professionals.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety.
- Assist with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to ensure safe transfers.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment through regular cleaning, laundry, and organization tasks.
- Support residents with cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer’s by implementing memory care strategies and engaging in meaningful activities.
- Document all care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies; update care plans regularly.
- Respond promptly to emergencies using CPR or first aid skills when necessary; coordinate with emergency services if required.
- Foster social engagement by encouraging participation in community activities and providing emotional support.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing home settings, or group homes is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring.
- Certifications such as CPR, first aid, HIPAA compliance training preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or memory care needs.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and operate mobility aids like Hoyer lifts confidently.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams and family members.
- Compassionate attitude combined with patience and excellent caregiving skills.
