Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Caregiver to provide exceptional in-home care and support to individuals with diverse needs. This vital role involves offering personalized assistance, ensuring safety, and promoting independence for residents in a home environment. As a Live-In Caregiver, you will work closely with clients to deliver comprehensive care tailored to their unique requirements, fostering a safe, comfortable, and engaging living space.
Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs, patient observations, and overall health status regularly
- Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA privacy regulations
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary needs and preferences
- Use assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and ensure proper handling during transfers to prevent injury
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning and sanitation tasks
- Support residents with memory care needs, including Alzheimer’s disease and dementia-specific activities
- Observe changes in behavior or health conditions and communicate findings promptly to healthcare professionals
- Assist with light housekeeping duties to promote a comfortable living space
- Follow all safety protocols including CPR, First Aid, and emergency response procedures
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred
- Demonstrated experience in home & community care or home health services
- Knowledge of caring for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or memory impairments such as Alzheimer’s or dementia
- Hands-on experience with patient monitoring, medication administration, and care planning
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality at all times
- Experience working with people with disabilities or in hospice care settings is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting residents during transfers or mobility tasks
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and reporting changes effectively
- Proven ability to work independently while maintaining a high standard of compassionate caregiving
