Responsibilities
- Provide personalized care to residents or clients, assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and observe patients’ health status, including vital signs and overall well-being, reporting any changes promptly
- Assist with medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal consumption as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces
- Support residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s by implementing memory care strategies and engaging them in meaningful activities
- Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident’s lifts safely to assist with mobility and prevent injury
- Follow all safety protocols including CPR and First Aid procedures to respond effectively in emergencies
Requirements
- Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing home, or group home settings; experience with long-term care preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
- Certification in CPR and First Aid; additional certifications such as HIPAA compliance are advantageous
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly
- Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or memory care needs
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and families
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to provide respectful and dignified care
