Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Caregiver to provide high-quality, personalized care for individuals with diverse needs. The ideal candidate will support the resident in daily activities, promote independence, and ensure a safe, comfortable environment. The position requires living on-site and working closely with clients to deliver comprehensive care tailored to their individual needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Medication prompting/reminders
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary requirements and assist with feeding as needed
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment
- Observe and document patient condition, reporting any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals or family members
- Support residents with dementia, Alzheimer's, or other memory-related conditions through specialized care techniques
- Follow prescribed care plans and coordinate with healthcare providers for ongoing patient needs
- Maintain compliance with all safety standards, including CPR and first aid protocols
Skills
- Proven experience in home & community care, assisted living, or long-term care environments
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s, dementia, hospice, and memory care practices
- Ability to assist with ADLs and provide direct support for individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities
- Strong patient observation skills and the ability to monitor vital signs accurately
- Experience with medication reminders and understanding of HIPAA regulations
- CPR certification and first aid training required; additional certifications in nursing or home health are advantageous but not required.
- Compassionate demeanor with excellent communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and assist residents with mobility using appropriate equipment
- Familiarity with care planning, social work principles, and working within a resident-centered approach
