Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Caregiver to provide comprehensive in-home care for individuals with diverse needs. The ideal candidate will support residents with activities of daily living, medication management, and emotional well-being, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs, observe patient conditions, and report changes promptly
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed care plans and HIPAA regulations
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and preparation
- Support residents with memory care needs, dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other cognitive impairments through specialized techniques
- Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and manage heavy lifting safely when necessary
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment through regular cleaning and sanitation tasks
- Follow all safety protocols including CPR and first aid procedures; respond effectively in emergency situations
- Document care activities diligently in compliance with healthcare regulations and care plans
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to ensure holistic resident care
- Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being
Requirements
APDcompliance
- Prior experience in assisted living, home health, hospice care, or long-term care settings preferred
- Knowledge of patient monitoring, vital signs assessment, medication administration, and dementia or Alzheimer’s care techniques
- Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are highly desirable
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely; familiarity with Hoyer lifts is advantageous
- Strong observational skills for patient safety and condition monitoring
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Flexibility to work in a live-in setting with a commitment to providing 24-hour care as needed
- Valid driver’s license may be preferred for transportation purposes
