- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor residents’ vital signs and observe changes in health status to promptly report to healthcare professionals
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed care plans while maintaining HIPAA compliance for patient privacy
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices safely and effectively
- Maintain detailed documentation of care activities, patient observations, and progress notes in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Support residents’ emotional well-being through companionship, engaging activities, and social interaction
- Proven experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or group home environments with a focus on senior or disability care
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia care, memory care techniques, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders
- Certifications in CPR and First Aid are required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are preferred
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts; physical stamina for long shifts is essential
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing health changes promptly
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams and families
- Compassionate attitude combined with a proactive approach to caregiving that prioritizes resident safety and comfort
