Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Caregiver to provide comprehensive in-home care for individuals with diverse needs. The ideal candidate will support residents with activities of daily living, medication management, and emotional well-being in a respectful and safe environment. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those requiring long-term or short-term care, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those recovering from illness. The Live-In Caregiver will work closely with families, healthcare professionals, and support teams to deliver personalized care tailored to each resident’s unique needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs and observe patient conditions for any changes or concerns
- Administer medications accurately according to care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary restrictions and preferences
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the living environment through regular cleaning and sanitation
- Implement individualized care plans developed by healthcare professionals or social workers
- Provide emotional support, companionship, and engagement to promote mental well-being
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times, including CPR and first aid procedures when required
- Collaborate with healthcare providers for patient monitoring, reporting concerns promptly, and updating care documentation
Qualifications
- Prior experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, hospice care, or working with people with developmental disabilities or autism preferred
- Certifications in First Aid, CPR, and HIPAA compliance required or willing to obtain upon hire
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, and long-term care best practices preferred
- Ability to perform light cleaning tasks and meal preparation for residents’ dietary needs
- Experience working with residents requiring assistance with ADLs and medication administration
- Strong observational skills to monitor patient health status effectively
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills and patience when working with vulnerable populations
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and assist residents physically when needed
