Schedule
Consistent schedule: Full-Time, 4 days a week, has to have open flexibility to work weekends when the coverage is needed
What You’ll Do
- Support residents with daily needs (mobility, eating, dressing, bathing, toileting, and cognition support) while keeping dignity and independence front and center
- Administer and document medications
- Encourage gentle exercise and help with physical therapy activities
- Plan and prepare meals (with attention to dietary needs)
- Keep the home safe, clean, and comfortable with light housekeeping
- Provide companionship and create moments of joy and connection
- Act quickly and responsibly if emergencies arise
- Notice the little things—because details matter in great care
The Work Environment
This role requires comfort with working independently at times. While there is always someone nearby if things get busy or an emergency arises, caregivers are expected to manage the household and resident needs confidently during slower periods.
You’ll “wear more hats” here: instead of caring for 10+ residents at once, you’ll care for 4–5. Not every resident needs extensive help—for example, in one home only one resident requires scheduled toileting, while the others are semi-independent. At the second home, three need assistance while one is mostly independent.
Each home is staffed with one CG per shift plus a float caregiver that helps both homes. Most of staff are trained in both homes so they could be ready to work in either one or in both if they are the " float CG" in that day.
The pace is still significantly slower than in a large facility, but the variety of tasks keeps the work meaningful and engaging.
