Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Caregiver to provide comprehensive in-home care for clients with diverse needs. The ideal candidate will support residents in maintaining their independence, ensuring safety, and enhancing quality of life through personalized care plans. Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
- Monitor and observe patient conditions, including vital signs and overall health status
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed care plans and HIPAA regulations
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences, ensuring proper food safety standards
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and manage patient transfers safely
- Maintain cleanliness of the living environment through light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and laundry
- Document care activities meticulously, adhering to HIPAA guidelines and facility protocols
- Support residents with specialized needs such as Alzheimer's, dementia, autism, or developmental disabilities through tailored interventions and memory care techniques
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times to prevent accidents or injuries
Requirements
- Proven experience in home & community care, assisted living, or long-term care environments
- Knowledge of patient monitoring, medication administration, and vital signs measurement
- Certifications such as First Aid, CPR, and HIPAA compliance are highly desirable
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer's, or developmental challenges preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when necessary for resident transfers or mobility assistance
- Strong observational skills for patient safety and health status updates
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills and patience in caregiving roles
- Ability to work independently within a live-in setting while maintaining professional boundaries
- Prior experience with hospice care or working with seniors is advantageous
- Flexibility to work long hours in a 24-hour caregiving environment; reliability is essential
