Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Caregiver to provide exceptional in-home care for individuals with varying needs. This role involves supporting residents with daily activities, health monitoring, and emotional well-being within a home or community setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, caregiving, and senior or disability support, ensuring the safety, comfort, and dignity of those they serve. This is a full-time position requiring live-in availability to offer consistent, personalized care.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
- Monitor vital signs and observe patient conditions to report any changes promptly
- Administer medications accurately following care plans and HIPAA regulations
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment through regular cleaning and sanitation
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts to safely transfer residents with mobility challenges
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Follow care plans meticulously, including documentation of care activities and patient progress
- Support residents with memory care needs such as Alzheimer’s or dementia through specialized techniques
- Assist with household tasks related to home & community care standards
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy laws such as HIPAA
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living, long-term care, or home health environments
- Knowledge of patient monitoring, vital signs measurement, and medication administration
- Strong understanding of dementia, Alzheimer’s, hospice, and memory care practices
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate assistive devices like Hoyer lifts
- First aid certification and CPR training preferred
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders is advantageous
- Excellent observational skills for patient safety and health status assessment
- Compassionate communication skills to connect effectively with residents of all ages and backgrounds
- Ability to follow detailed care plans while maintaining flexibility for individual needs
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of patient information
- Experience in social work or community-based caregiving is a plus
